#2 September 2026

As always, I tested again 8 featured plugins from WordPress.org. September batch #2. Here is what I think;

Ordessa – FAQ & Accordion Block with Bulk Add (4.3/5)
A Gutenberg block that holds your whole FAQ in one accordion, and you can paste an existing FAQ from a doc or spreadsheet and it splits it into question and answer pairs. The bulk add feature is genuinely handy and makes adding a lot of content super fast. Styling is very limited though, since color and font size apply to headings and answers at once, so it’s a simple and useful block but nothing more.

WorkMore Media Folders (4.9/5)
Adds virtual drag and drop folders to the Media Library with nesting, colors and favorites, and it can import your existing structure from FileBird, Real Media Library or HappyFiles. It feels really polished, has multiple ways to sort files, and sorted files disappear from the “All files” view, which I love. The cleanup doesn’t remove 100% and it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, but it’s one of the nicest media folder plugins I’ve tried.

PortalPilot – Client Portal, File Sharing and Client Management (4.6/5)
Turns WordPress into a client portal where clients log in on the front end to upload and download files, leave notes and edit their profile. Setup is basically instant, you get custom fields without needing ACF, users can register and you can set permissions per client. The actual client portal is a bit hidden in the backend, uploads are capped at 2 MB and profile pictures end up in the Media Library, but overall a solid client portal.

PopupRoulette (3.6/5)
Shows a rotating promo popup, picking one of your active popups at random on each page load, either as an image with a link or one of three templates. It’s simple to use, rotates nicely and uninstalls cleanly. But there’s no page targeting, no dismiss cookie so it pops up on every single page load, and styling is limited, so there are a lot of better popup options out there.

PlexBlocks – Business Hours for Block Editor (3.6/5)
A block for your weekly opening hours with a live Open/Closed badge, highlighting of the current day and holiday overrides. The four design presets look nice and it’s very beginner friendly. The editor preview isn’t accurate and I couldn’t figure out how the holiday overrides actually work, so it’s fine for beginners but one of many plugins doing the same thing.

Eventnetic – Event Tickets, Booking and Calendar (3.0/5)
A standalone ticketing plugin with events, capacity, ticket types and a calendar, where the free version only does payment at the door. The workflows feature has real potential and it supports a ton of currencies. But it creates its own backend, doesn’t create event pages automatically, shows none of the event details on the event page and locations lack ZIP and city fields, so it feels half baked and a little sus AI generated right now.

AllTerrain Forms (4.8/5)
A drag and drop form builder with conditional logic, multi-step forms, calculations, repeaters, surveys, quizzes, 10 themes and everything for free. The customization is insane, the design is awesome and the little details like confetti confirmations make it fun to use. Entries don’t open outside the OpenStation, the date validation format is unclear and there are a few W3C errors, but once again an awesome plugin by AllTerrain and probably one of my favorite form builders.

Ruhler Community Resource Directory (3.8/5)
Made for nonprofits and community services to list locations with opening hours and services, which visitors can search, filter and see on a map. It uses the native WordPress UX and the “publishing readiness” checklist is a really nice touch. Locations only show on the map with coordinates, the markers were off even with exact coordinates and you can’t change the layout or wording, so it’s promising but still needs work.

What do you think about this selection? Will you install any of those?
